My Drink of Choice on this New Year's Eve

"Can I have some fesh wader?"

I seriously can not think of a cuter sound to ring out the old and bring in the new. The sound of a 3-year-old's voice asking me for fresh water as I kiss him goodnight.

Cheers baby boy. Happy New Year! It is my pleasure to drink water with you tonight.

Chin Hairs

Why is it that I have more chin hairs than the teenage boys who hang around the front of my house waiting to catch a glimpse of my girls?

Seriously. I really need to check into laser hair removal before my husband refuses to kiss me. You know you pluck the stray hairs on your face too much when your three year old looks for you in the bathroom when he can't find you at the computer.

4 Days till Christmas......

Forever and Ever

This is what Evan said to me when I told him he couldn't have a snack before dinner. He crammed himself into the bottom of my messy pantry and cried and cried.

I am not going to be your mommy anymore!
I'm going to cry forever and ever.

Needless to say, he ate his dinner. I had to feed him every bite, but he ate. Little cutie! I am going to be your mommy forever and ever, Evan.

Elise Mommy Dot

Elise mommy dot.
Elise mommy dot.
Elise mommy dot.
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas.
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas.
I want to wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heaaaaarrrrrrt!

As sung by Ian tonight as we were making sugar cookies. I added the blahs because I don't know what he was singing at that point.

Time

The amazing thing about this weekend with no computer is the amount of TIME I had to do other things without feeling stressed that I needed to check my school boards, bank balance, or email. I accomplished so much. I think I am going to do that every weekend for awhile. I do have to admit that I had Steve check my email once. But only once.

And when I logged back in, amazingly, I only had 36 new emails from all of my addicted fellow emailers. You know who you are. Missed you...a little.

My Addiction

I am addicted to my computer. Flat out. I am a computer addict. I have read about this. The article suggested that you only check your e-mail three times a day. If you can't do that, you are an addict. OK, well I guess that makes me a complete slosh.

So, this weekend I am turning the computer off. I need to lower my heart rate and take a break from school. I don't do that when I see the glow coming from my office. At 5 pm tomorrow night I will shut it down until 6 am Monday morning. If you need me, call me on my cell phone which I will have on me at all times.

I think I will just sit in a quiet place, if I can find one, and imagine I am on the beach in Mazatlan with a waiter bringing me Margaritas that I am charging to my tab. Then I will go to a little restaurant on the beach front and eat shrimp dipped in butter and have more margaritas because the water is bad in Mexico.

See you Monday.
